The Commute Diet

I saw a tape measure this afternoon and out of sheer curiosity, I took my waist measurement. I’ve gained 3inches in the last 4 months (so that’s why I felt that my tummy’s protruding more than usual). Hehehe… guess I need to take gym sessions more seriously than I thought.

I never needed to work out back in manila. All you need to do is commute to and from wherever your job/school is, and it’ll do wonders for your figure. The farther your house, the better the results.

The Commute Diet is quite simple:

1. Get up from bed at the last minute

2. Shower, put your clothes on, then straight out the door. No breakfast.

3. If applicable, walk to your jeepney, fx, bus or tricycle stop.

4. Make sure you get caught up in the rush hour, wherein you’ll be forced to walk to be able to ride the preferred vehicle that will take you to your destination.

5. Take as many vehicle changes as you can (non-airconditioned vehicles are recommended – will help you sweat more).

6. After work/school, repeat steps 3-5 on the way home.

See? Simple. 2 workouts a day, 5-6 days a week. Lunch and dinner servings should be taken regularly but at a minimum. Don’t forget to bring a hanky everytime you go out to reduce risk of lung cancer. Use a powerful deodorant. Choose clothes that will not display baskil (that's basa-kilikili to you).

This is proven to be more effective than the Atkins diet. Weight loss is guaranteed within 1-2 months.

* This is an entry I've written back in March 2004 while I was still living in England and had been eating boxes of chocolate-oozing profiteroles from Tesco. Oh, how I miss Cornish Vanilla Ice Cream. *sigh*

Also, what I said above about how I didn't need to work out when I'm in Manila -- it's not true anymore. The bf has a car and there is no longer a need for me to walk as much as I did. Therefore, gain weight, I did. Pfttt.

you know...they say walking can reduce your stomach fat cupcakes faster. what you have to do is tuck in your stomach while walking and breathe normally. it works for me.

i have to agree on this one :) That's one of the reason why I have to exercise every day or every other day because ever since i have stopped working, my lifestyle became sedentary. As opposed to when I was working in the bank.
