Perfume woes

I have bought a big bottle of Lacoste por femme from my cousin sometime last year and have been using it nearly every day since. I bought it because I thought it was a bargain, as it was nearly a thousand Pesos cheaper than if I buy it at a shopping centre.

Then one day, I’ve noticed that the smell had changed. It became all stinky and smelled like rotten wood. It dawned on me that it could have expired in that short period of time. I thought that it was impossible, but then again I wasn’t really sure where that thing came from. So that’s the last time I will ever buy a dodgy perfume. I would much rather get my perfume from proper shops like Scent from now on.

I'm a fragrance geek so you might want to take note of these:

1. Don't leave your fragrance uncapped
2. Don't leave it in the car (bawal mainitan!)
3. Buy from reputable retailers (kahit outlet sale, basta legit. honestly taga talaga sa department store...but believe me, the distis of perfumes like Prestige, LuxAsia, Rustans, L'Oreal, nags sale sila paminsan, you just have to keep your eyes and ears peeled...it doesnt hurt to have connections too).
4. If you're a fragrance collector (papalit-palit) buy the smaller sizes, say 50 to 75 ml. Coz you won't end up using the same fragrance everyday (like me, I already have around 13 and counting...)...Get the larger one if super-love mo na tlaga yung frag mo.
5. Research! Try www.basenotes.com, it's my reference.
