FS Picks of the Week, Jan 25-31

For some unknown reason, a couple of the most anticipated shows in Manila have been cancelled recently. The BF and I were looking forward to seeing
Jo Koy live last week, but it wasn't meant to be. Jo Koy is a Filipino-American stand-up comic, that we would've loved to watch perform here.

Another disappointment (for most, but not much for me), was the cancellation of The Killers concert. I'm pretty sure a lot of people are pissed off about that. I know quite a few that have been itching to go since last year.

At least there are a few new movies out this week. I see them as fillers until the summer blockbusters arrive. As for shows, at least the Beach Boys Live concert is still pushing through. That should keep the old folks happy, while their children sulk in a corner, wishing they were watching The Killers instead. Tsk!

The Blind Side
Starring: Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw
Synopsis: "The Blind Side" depicts the remarkable true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle. --© Warner Bros
