G-lish Eyescream

I still can't get away from food, even when it comes to makeup. I walked past the
G-lish stall at Megamall (near the cinemas) one day and got me a couple of creamy, metallic eyeshadow pots.

Eyescream in gold and metallic brown (which is, what, rust?), Php60

Did you see that pricetag??? It's Php60 EACH, damnit! It can't get any cheaper than that, I believe. You can stack 'em up like building blocks too, if you get bored enough.

I've tried these also and they're quite good value for eyeshadow that's worth less than a McDonald's meal. I especially love the gold for nights out.

Bon appetit!

UPDATE: A friend of mine told me that well-known Filipino makeup artist Patrick Rosas collaborated with G-lish to produce a makeup line. This makes it an even better bargain!!

FS Picks of the Week, Jan 12-17

Remember what I said last week about foregoing alcohol for two weeks? Of course, I couldn't manage a week without! I disgust myself. Sheesh.

There's nothing much going on this week. There are a couple of movies -- Daybreakers and The Spy Next Door. I think Daybreakers is quite intriguing. If we had Zombieland last week, this week is all about vampires. We already had werewolves last November, it's such a shame they couldn't make a comeback next week. Maybe we'll have more aliens or something like that.

Daybreakers
Starring: Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Michael Dorman, Claudia Karvan
Synopsis: It's 2017, and the undead far outnumber the living in this horror film starring Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke (TRAINING DAY). A virus has spread across the earth, turning its inhabitants into vampires.... What are you guinumis from 2009?

Guinumis, geddit? Gonna miss = Guinumis? Hahaha!

Fark, that was a lousy pun. Pfttt.

Anyway, I love merienda. That time between lunch and dinner can sometimes take so long, right? I'm not surprised that I can't keep the weight off -- I'm always snacking!

Whenever The BF and I happen to be around Greenbelt during merienda time, you will most likely catch us at Via Mare. Filipino food there is always good -- there's that homey feel you only get when granny cooks for you.

Bibingka with salted egg and cheese (served with grated coconut), Php105

Bibingka is a Filipino rice cake. I've tried many bibingkas from childhood and this one takes the cake! It's a little on the expensive side, but it's well worth it!

Guinumis, Php50

Guinumis is a sweet Filipino drink, made up of crushed ice, coconut milk, rice crispies, tapioca pearls, gelatin and sugar. I think it's more like a dessert than a drink, but who cares, really?? As long as it's good, then nothing else matters.

Let the suspense begin!

The BF gave me a Domo Qee over the holidays. It's so ugly, that it's cute (if you get my twisted sense of humour).

I wanted a brown one, just because it is the original colour.

But with a Qee, you never know what colour you're gonna get. So I got a blue one, instead of the brown I wanted. But that's okay.

Wonder if using brown eyeshadow will work? (Stupid idea)

But what the heck, he's the star of the New Year's Eve fireworks in our neighbourhood.

Guess the Domo Qee had set the tone for my beginning of 2010 --- you just never know what's around the corner. Life is full of surprises.

FS Picks of the Week, Jan 4-10

Did you think I got firecracker injuries and couldn't type a decent post these last few days? I healthy and well, thanks, just a bit groggy from all the work and alcohol that I had been subjecting my body to.

*sigh*

New Year's Resolution -- no alcohol for at least two weeks (or I may forget to enjoy it).

So anyway, I didn't watch any of the MMF (Metro Manila Film Festival) movies. None of the choices really interested me, so I'm very happy it will be over this week.

In a dynamic new portrayal of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous characters, “Sherlock Holmes” sends Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson on their latest challenge. Revealing fighting skills as lethal as his legendary intellect, Holmes will battle as never before to bring down a new nemesis and unravel a deadly plot that could destroy the country. --© Warner Bros

Zombieland
Starring: Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin
Synopsis: A cowardly shut-in named Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) is forced to join up with a seasoned zombie-slayer named Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) in order to survive the zombie apocalypse. As Tallahassee sets out on a mission to find the last Twinkie on Earth, the duo meets up with Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), two young girls who have resorted to some rather unorthodox methods to survive amidst the chaos. Reluctant partners in the battle against the undead, all four soon begin to wonder if it might be better to simply take their chances alone.
