Gahhh. I wish I had all the time in the world to blog and it kills me every time I couldn't, which is exactly why I had been quiet for a while.
Like I mentioned last week, I wanted to go see The Losers and The Crazies (which The BF practically begged me to go see with him. He will have to watch Sex & the City 2 with me, just so I could get back at him). Will do a proper review on those two, I think. But I'm telling you now that you're wasting your time on The Crazies -- it wasn't all that gory, just heart-attack inducing.
This is the week, my dear friends! IronMan 2 is opening and I can't wait!!!
Iron Man2
Starring: Robert Downey Jr, Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson
Synopsis: With the world now aware of his dual life as the armored superhero Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James "Rhodey" Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, must forge new alliances -- and confront powerful enemies.
For all the fans of American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, she will be in the country this weekend!

Tex-Mex is one of my favourite foods. So when I went on a girl-bonding date with a new friend (it's not lesbian-y, I swear), I was happy to try out TJ's or Tijuana's Mexican Grill at City Golf along J. Vargas Avenue, Ortigas.
As you can see, the prices aren't that cheap.
But if this is the kind of portion that you will get, it's certainly worth it! This plate of Beef Nachos is enough for 6 people!
(I may be exaggerating there, but we were still full when we ordered this and it did seem enough for 6 people at the time.)
Chicken Quesadillas and a pitcher of frozen margarita (the pitcher is I think around P300, if I'm not mistaken).
We didn't order much, but I certainly liked what we tried. I may be going back there to try the other stuff and will make sure I wasn't so full when I do.
Caught in the act at being a blogger. hahaha
Gahhhh, it's so hot out here! That's the trouble with working from home -- you don't wanna spend more on electricity so you bear the heat instead of turning up the air-conditioning. Pfttt. I hate being poor! Boo!
I've been away over the weekend on a trip to Baler. It's funny how I always thought that Baler is in Quezon, when it is actually in Aurora province. It's shameful how we can be so ignorant of our own home country. I will post about it some other time.
ANYWAY, there are two movies I wanna go out to see this week -- The Losers and The Crazies. It's the attack of the labeled people! I think I might pass up on The Crazies, because it sounds like a zombie flick. I hate gory and horror movies. Eek.
If you want to relive all your Toy Story memories in glorious 3D, Toy Story 1 and 2 will also be opening this week.
The Losers
Starring: Chris Evans, Columbus Short, Idris Elba, Jason Patric, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Oscar Jaenada, Zoe Saldana
Synopsis: A group of elite CIA black ops agents are betrayed and left for dead by a rogue government operative. But they survive, and they set out to discover who betrayed them in order to exact some vengeance.
The Crazies
Starring: Danielle Panabaker, Joe Anderson, Radha Mitchell, Timothy Olyphant
Synopsis: The inhabitants of a small Iowa town are suddenly afflicted with a plague that causes insanity and violent behavior. The town's sheriff and his wife band together with the few remaining survivors and fight their way out.
As Marie Claire is no longer in circulation here in the Philippines, I was sort of disappointed that I couldn't catch the May 2010 issue. But then again, the I'm not sure if the local version would've used photos of Jessica Simpson without makeup on the cover. Nevertheless, I wanted to buy the magazine so that I could scrutinize every pore of her face on those apparently non-airbrushed photos.
It's amazing how some celebrities look so plain without makeup, isn't it? She looks like she's had a nose job.
This shot is nice, but she looks kind of manly for some reason. Very androgynous.
Hmmm... I think Jessica was trying to pull off a sexy pose here. It's not exactly working for me.
My online buddy, Cleotie, invited me to attend this thing called the Easter Tweetup. Apparently, it's not the first time Pinoy Twitter addicts have decided to get together. I'm so happy I decided to show up, even though I was quite nervous because I had never been to one of these before (I've had so many firsts recently). I kinda look forward to meeting new people now, since I started working from home and my only means of outside communication is through the internet. I know, it's Loserville!
So basically, the Easter Tweetup happened last April 8 at the National Sports Grill.
I was quite surprised to see many people showed up! If you've been to NSG before, then just imagine it full, with several people standing up. I think the event was organised by Sherwin.
Some of them left early, though. But then again, I was over an hour late to arrive. Bwehehehe!
From online buddies to actual buddies -- Cleotie and moi. (Note to self: NSG lights are unflattering to my face. Hehe!)
Sandz and Vince. Sandz and Cleotie have known each other for a while and I barged in between them. Hehe! Vince apparently owns this shala (sosyal, sowshall, saucy) streetfood restaurant called Lime, found in Mandaluyong. I plan to visit soon! Just go and have a look if I don't post about it early enough, because I've heard great things about the food there.
Cute photo of Franz (Mr Mohawk) and Joed (pronounced Jo-ed, I believe.)
We were asked to answer several questions on a piece of paper, then the team who gets the most right will get free swag from Yahoo! Philippines. We didn't win, darnit! One of the questions was "Name three songs by Justin Bieber." Who the heck is that guy???
My friends and I wanted to go on a summer holiday. But as we were all on a tight budget (one was getting married soon and had too many bills to pay), we ended up renting a 3-bedroom house and just went on a day trip to Camayan Beach Resort in Subic.
Frustrated Sosyalera conquers Camayan!
I think the whole thing cost us nearly Php 3,000 for each person (which includes accomodation, groceries, gas and resort daytrip fee). I can't be too sure though, as I wasn't paying very good attention to my expenses. hehe!
While Sharma was queuing to pay the entrance fee, the rest of us horsed around.
...And then some.
Subic Bay looked nice and peaceful.
But there were so many people! We couldn't get our own cabana...
So we did it old-school, picnic-style instead.
It wasn't so bad, if you're desperate for a quick weekend getaway.
The girl with the towel over her head is me. For someone who likes to go to the beach so much, you'd wonder why I can't swim and I absolutely hate being under the sun. My skin gets so dark easily and dark skin is soooooo un-shala!
I had been working and about all weekend, so it came as no surprise that Monday had become a "no brain" day for me. It was awful, I'm tellin' yah. Everyone needs at least one day a week to just relax and have fun. You suffer, otherwise.
I've seen Date Night over the weekend and it was good fun! After all the hard work during the week, a funny and brainless movie is what I need. Steve Carrell and Tina Fey has very good chemistry, if you ask me.
Anyway, it has been a long time coming but finally Shutter Island will be showing this week.
Shutter Island
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Kingsley
Synopsis: "Shutter Island" is the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the coast of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island’s fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane. --© Paramount
And if you liked the video game DJ Hero, then you would surely want to have a look at the guy who voiced the tutorials. Grandmaster Flash will be visiting Manila for the first time! The BF and I wanted to go, but we had beach plans over the weekend. Boo! You can't have it all, like they say.
Grandmaster Flash in Manila

Working from home has turned me into a teleserye nut. It's difficult not be when you're working in the living room, your parents watching the evening news and they don't turn of the television after they're done. So I had become vulnerable to the soap operas showing after.
I'm too lazy to turn the tv off myself, obviously.
So there I was, catching glimpses of Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo on the screen while working when this image caught my eye --
Yes, it is the image of some woman's butt and her panty lines are showing for all the country to see. The screenshot is bad, but you can still see it. Que horror!
The idea of this vantage point is Hollywood-ish, but I'm afraid the execution is poor and they should've used someone else's butt for it. Otherwise, they should have made this woman wear Spanx. Sheesh!
Full video clip as follows --
I know, I know. Fun times are over and we are all back at work. But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the new movies out this week and Super Junior is coming to town, so there's plenty to look forward to!
Date Night
Starring: Steve Carrell, Tina Fey, Mark Wahlberg
Synopsis: A married couple try to rekindle the flames of their relationship by going out on a date. Unable to get a table at a restaurant, they take the reservation of another couple. A case of mistaken identity soon has them running from a pair of mob hitmen.

Who would've thought that Kris Aquino's son, Baby James, is actually a "secret candidate" of Manny Villar and was not really interested in Tito Noynoy?
See for yourself and fast forward the clip to 1:38.
See? What'd I tell you??? LoL!!!
Before anything else...
Happy Easter!!!
I had been busy the past week and was quite envious of people who finished work as early as Wednesday in observance of Holy Week. Working from home doesn't sound too good if everyone else is having fun, while you're still chasing your quota.
Fortunately, I had been able to finish by mid-afternoon on Good Friday. I was cooped up at home in the heat for a couple of days, so I've been itching to leave the house.
I made The BF take me to Mall of Asia, simply because there are hordes of people there on normal days and I wanted to see if Good Friday made a difference. In the Philippines, Good Friday is day you stay at home to respect the death of Jesus on the cross (yes, it's pretty heavy stuff).
Judging by the number of cars parked by the side of the road, I assumed there were still loads of people.
But the mall is closed!!!
Well technically, the seaside area wasn't closed.
The sunset is very nice here and would be a good place to think about meaningful things.
Unless you find yourself in Hooters, which was the only restaurant open at the time we arrived.
I didn't drink any alcohol, promise! I'm good on Good Friday!
I had a refreshing glass of apple juice instead (P85).
I camwhore while waiting for the food.
And I camwhored with The BF (who ended up just being partially in the photo.hehe).
Waiting for the sun to go down.
And when it did, I wanted to shove the couple out of the way because they were ruining my shot. *sigh*
My Fish & Chips (Php350) arrived. In the Philippines, you're only allowed to eat fish and veggies on Good Friday. It was good!
The BF isn't Catholic, so he ordered Training Burgers (Php350), which are essentially mini burgers with bacon bits and tons of fries.
Honestly, the food was great but the portions were too big for us. So we decided to go for a walk after dinner.
You wouldn't believe how many people were there.
Times have really changed.
I then dragged The BF to see how Bonifacio High Street was on a Good Friday. Again, I'm surprised to see there were loads of people. Some church people put up a Way of the Cross throughout the stretch of BHS, which was their way of bringing the church to those who would like to go shopping instead. It's a very modern way of doing things, which is good. But I like the traditional way better. Maybe I'm a purist like that.
But there was one station that caught my eye.
I've never done a Way of the Cross since I left school.
At this one, people are encouraged to write their pledges and to pin them on the wall with a clothespin. I didn't write anything, I just wanted to watch.
I kind of half-wished that a very strong gust of wind will blow away the small pieces of paper towards the sky.
What would you have written down?
