For several months now, I had been carrying an 8gb flash drive with me everywhere. My latest files are in it, along with some movies and other stuff that I plan to upload to my main computer at some point.
Unfortunately, it just died on me one day.
All of a sudden, without even a hint or a warning, it just wouldn't open. The computers could not read it and ask me to insert it into the port, even when it's already there.
8gb worth of files gone in a flash and there was nothing I could do! My latest photos were there, my CV and my budget plan (yes, my personal budget plan is on an Excel file). Basically, a lot of my own memories are in there.
The weird thing is, I still carry it with me everyday, as if it will just snap out of its coma. Pfttt.
I've learned my lesson -- Don't fill up your 8gb pen drive with important stuff, just the ones that you're willing to lose.

I suggest that next time make a back up files of all important files so if in case something happen, you still have data that you can retrieve.
